“My story is the same as every child raised by the State of Illinois. Growing up under DCFS care was very difficult in the 1960’s. I went through so much good and bad. Being at ISSCH was good and bad. Many Memories of the abuse I went through everything was not love and roses but there were good moments…It would take a book to write down all my experiences but to this day I have not been able to settle down. I have traveled all over the country looking for the home and family I never had. I gave my children who also grew up under DCFS your contact information so that they can obtain their DCFS records if they so choose to do so.”
